norwegian producer thomas urv drops the småskansen ep on his own ploink imprint this april. one of norways leading techno prospects, thomas urv has promoted and played at countless events across the country featuring the likes of jeff mills, juan atkins, derrick may, carl cox, richie hawtin, robert hood and kevin saunderson. when not delivering his three deck performances across scandinavia, spain, france, holland, canada and the uk (for fabric and bestival) the norse producer is firmly focused on ploink and his studio activities. *fuktig sol* leads the ep and is a sinister cut led by a morose hook and syncopated rhythm whilst whirring atmospherics add to a looming tension. the dark undertones continue in *stell/less* although steady kicks construct a vibe better suited towards peak time dancefloor madness. tying up the release *sånn isbre* delivers a frenzy of layered sounds that evolve over the course of a lengthy 16 minutes.

featuring an eerie spoken word vocal by thomas gandey based on a tarot game, the instrumental is a true dancefloor anthem with hypnotizing arpeggiated analog bassline reminiscing of italo disco, tech drums and synth arrangement. everything flows together into a devilish spoken word breakdown where pads take over and hell breaks loose.

nice price deal !!! thomas brinkmann returns on third ear just over a year after his guy martin ep in 2013. once again, his sheer class and technical skill are in abundant supply, creating blistering techno drenched in the funk. just brilliant. buy on sight.

here we have one of our favourite kitties. affkt! he is one of the most experienced electronic producers coming from spain. lost in process ep is a two tracked affair backed with the remixes from cristoph and wehbba. the title track is such a delicate cut, boasting the sensual vocals from thomas gandey which evolves the cut into a deep and emotional song that radiates pure joy. on the other hand, boss is a darker and techier cut featuring thomas gandeys robotised voice that perfectly balance the whole cut. the remixes from cristoph and wehbba bring out the burst of energy the release deserves.

2022 repress! those lovely chords, that growling bassline combined with nancy sinatra-esque vocals and one big tease and build. thats what makes this track a true stand-out and sound like nothing else in club-land right now.
